Crawford County agreed with the rest of the state in Tuesday’s Primary Elections when it came to picking candidates for Congress on the November ballot.

For U.S. Senator, Democrats here and statewide preferred former Gov. Ted Strickland. Strickland took over 67 percent of the vote here in a three-person race and 65 percent statewide.

The race for the Republican nominee wasn’t that close. Nearly 79 percent of Crawford County Republicans made incumbent Rob Portman their choice. Across the state, more than 82 percent of Republicans selected Portman.

Green Party candidate Joseph DeMare ran unopposed in the Tuesday Primary and will be on the General Election ballot in November as well.

Janet Garrett 2The race for the 4th District seat in the House of Representatives has come down to Janet Garrett and incumbent Jim Jordan. Garrett won the three-person race to be Democrat nominee both here, just shy of 60 percent support, and statewide with two-thirds of the votes cast.

Jordan ran unopposed for the Republican nomination.
