**UPDATE**

The cause of a garbage truck rollover in Bucyrus last Friday has been determined to be failure to control.

The accident occurred at approximately 12:30 pm, according to Lieutenant McCracken of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. The 2024 White International Garbage truck driven by Michael Stevens of Crestline, was traveling northbound on Smith Rd. when Stevens lost control. The truck veered off the right side of the road, then back onto the road twice before finally going off the left side, crossing Rt. 330, hitting a sign, and landing in a ditch.

Stevens and a passenger, Carl Gallant of Crestline, were transported by Life First Ambulance to Bucyrus Community Hospital for medical treatment.

The Whetstone Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Stevens was cited for failure to control.
