Whether in the market to buy or sell, there’s a shop on Atwood Street in Galion that gives ample opportunity for both when it comes to vintage items.

“Every week it’s something different,” said the owner of Things Treasured, Larry Hadamufcin.

Inmon said they settled on having the store in Galion because not only do they like the small-town feel of the community, they like all the recent activity in town which they see as an indication the community is really moving in the right direction.

Things Treasured is a consignment store that is quickly growing in popularity with those who are looking to find collectibles, as well as those looking for an outlet for their vintage items and antiques. Tuesday the store had an antique dresser, vintage hand tools, some clothing, a classic watch and even a stylist’s chair.

“With social media having gotten so big with online garage sales and people collecting things, there are a lot of vintage items floating around,” Inmon said. “Every week we get something coming in from all over Ohio.”

The store manager said a lot of people with items to sell may be older who are simply looking to downsize or get rid of items they have acquired or collected over the years. Often they aren’t completely comfortable with opening their homes to a garage sale, don’t have enough to make having a garage sale worth the effort, or simply aren’t sure of the fair value of what they do have.

“There are a lot of vintage items in this area,” Inmon said, “a lot of memorabilia.”

The store is closed Wednesdays and Sundays. It is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.

“It started off helping people sell things,” Inmon said. “Our motivation is not to get rich or take advantage of our customers.”

Inmon said she likes to take consignments on Fridays and Saturdays. Those with questions about the store can reach Inmon at 419-462-1144.
