It may take some extra effort and patience to get to the vendor and craft show in Galion this weekend, but those selling their wares believe it will be worth it.
“Rachel McDaniel,” said Brian Foley when asked who put together the show. “She’s the (Family Dollar) store manager.”
The event is in the parking lot at the Dollar General store on Portland Way North. Amidst all the detours and construction, those who do go will find delicious treats, good music and plenty more according to Foley of Brian’s Artisan Bakery.
“We have a lot of vendors out here, a lot of homemade crafts. All of the vendors out here, and crafters, work hard to make their products and everything is homemade,” Foley said. Come out and support us.”
The show opened Friday and will also be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., both today (Saturday) and Sunday.
“There will be a lot more vendors here tomorrow,” Foley said. “We’re also going to be doing pizzas for adults and children. All of the proceeds are going to be going to children’s literacy.”
The pizza will be from nearby Little Caesar’s and will be available for a donation. Foley said amng the attractions on the weekend would be live music. Also, folks who want can simply stop by and donate to the Children’s Literacy Fund.
“The Children’s Literacy Fund provides books for schools and libraries,” explained McDaniel.
Although much of Portland Way is either closed or congested because of ongoing construction on the bridge and the road widening project, Dollar General at 252 Portland Way North is accessible beside the driveways to McDonalds and Subway, or by way of Hesby Drive which runs between Bucyrus Road and Portland Way at Heise Park.
