A 13-year-old Galion youth was struck by a passing vehicle while riding a bicycle and has been taken to Children’s Hospital in Columbus. Galion police are not releasing the name of the teen, nor the driver of the vehicle involved.
The accident occurred at 5:39 Thursday afternoon in the 200 block of Harding Way East. A release from Galion Police Chief Brian Saterfield indicated the vehicle was traveling west at the time of the accident.
The teen was first taken to Galion Community Hospital and then to Children’s Hospital for treatment of what the release said were serious injuries.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted the Galion Police Department at the scene of the accident which is still under investigation.
