NEWS RELEASE:

Galion Primary and Intermediate Schools will host a special event for students and “dads” September 19. Dads Take Your Child to School Day is a national program to encourage “dads” to be involved in the lives of their children.

The term “dads” is meant to be inclusive of all adult male primary or significant caregivers, and this event is open to anyone who fits this description. Actively involved “dads” are a positive force in the lives of their children and their community.

“We are very excited to welcome all the dads to our Primary and Intermediate buildings,” said school social worker Carly George. “We hope all the dads will join us at 8:00 AM for a light breakfast and information on how they can volunteer to help their child and others.”

Dads Take Your Child to School Day is an annual event held to celebrate the special relationship that fathers have with their children. It occurs at the beginning of the school year by inviting fathers, stepfathers, foster fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, godfathers, and other significant male caregivers to accompany their child(ren) to school on a specific day, and encouraging them to make a commitment to participate in their child(ren)’s education throughout the year.
