The Ohio School Boards Association is celebrating School Board Recognition Month in Jan. 2015 to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in our society.
School Board Recognition Month honors the members of Ohio’s 719 city, exempted village, local and joint vocational boards of education and educational service centers governing boards for their commitment to providing quality public education to Ohio’s school children.
The Galion City School District is joining with other districts throughout the state to recognize the important contributions school board members make to their communities.
“Our district is very lucky to have a dedicated Board of Education that works closely with parents, education professionals and community members to create the educational vision for our students,” Superintendent Mark Stefanik said. “On behalf of the students, staff, and community, I would like to personally thank the Galion City School District Board of Education members for their efforts in providing the leadership for our district.”
The men and women serving the Galion City School District include:
- Robert Zeisler
- Dennis Long
- Jennifer Kuns
- Brian Owens
- Brian Carson
Galion board members received certificates of commendation from the Ohio School Boards Association during the regular January meeting.
Again, the Galion City School District would like to publicly thank these board members for their dedicated service to our students and our staff. For more information regarding School Board Recognition month contact Stefanik at (419) 468-3432 or visit www.ohioschoolboards.org.
