GALION- Members of the Galion High School track team who made it to the state level were honored during the regular Board of Education meeting Tuesday evening.
Kerrigan Myers, the state champion in the 100-meter hurdles, was recognized by the board along with Jalyn Oswald, Brooklyn Cosey and Kaitlin Bailey, who took third place with her in the four by 100-meter relay. Jack McElligott, who placed second in the high jump at the state meet, sixth place long jump winner Hanif Donaldson and fellow track winners, Braxton Tate and Colbey Fox, were also honored by the school board.
The board approved the next school year to begin on August 21, 2019. There will be seven two-hour delay days removed with two staff professional development days added on August 19 and 20.
Next year’s course list now has a robotics class that students can choose to enroll in. The class will be one semester long and will earn students half of one credit.
The next regularly scheduled board meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on July 10.
