GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Galion Public Library is bustling with activities this February, offering a wide range of programs for both adults and youth. Randy, host of the “Community Spotlight” podcast, recently sat down with Jodie Jennings from the library to discuss the exciting lineup.

For adults, the library is introducing one-on-one tech help sessions with Jodie Jennings or tech expert Nathan. These sessions cover social media, Microsoft and Google programs, creative and academic writing, and general tech assistance. The sessions are available on February 5, 10, 24, and 26, with sign-ups available online or in-person at the library.

The library’s winter author experience will feature Ian Adams, a local nature photographer, discussing his new book, “In This Place of Silence,” on February 1 at 2:00 p.m. Additionally, the popular bingo night returns on February 3 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

A new program, Yap Club, will be held via Zoom on February 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., offering a space for conversation sparked by three chosen words. Other adult programs include a coloring session at the Three Bean Coffee House on February 12, an adult craft night on February 19, game night on February 24, and Stitch Club on February 25.

Youth programs are equally diverse, with Tinker Time running from February 10 to 15, encouraging creativity and problem-solving. The winter reading program concludes with a pizza party on February 21 at 4:30 p.m. Story times for preschoolers are scheduled every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:15 a.m.

The Anime Club will meet on February 11 at 6:30 p.m. to make chocolate sushi, while the Lego Club gathers on February 13 at 4:30 p.m. A Barnes and Noble field trip for grades 6 through 12 is planned for February 17, with permission slips due by February 14. Teen game night is set for February 18 at 6:00 p.m., and a new STEAM program for ages 6 to 11 will take place on February 20 at 5:30 p.m.

In celebration of Black History Month, the library will feature displays highlighting the importance of Black history as American history.
