The Galion Primary and Intermediate School will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair Monday, Oct. 12, through Friday, Oct. 16. The Book Fair will take place in the Galion Intermediate School Room 515, and will be open to students from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. during the school day.
“The Book Fair is a great way to connect your children with books they want to read, plus they make great gifts,” Galion Primary School Principal Cindy Voss said. “Our students always enjoy the opportunity to shop for new books they find interesting to them.”
During the week of the Book Fair, the Primary School will be hosting parents for lunch and a short presentation after parents take their student(s) shopping. The focus of the presentation will be to provide parents with tips for helping their students with homework and to explain how to access Razz Kids, which is a leveled reading program students can access at home for additional practice.
“We are excited to welcome our parents to the Primary Building during the week of Oct. 12,” Voss said. “The ultimate goal of this program is to build a strong partnership between our teachers and parents to help our students achieve their maximum potential.”
If you are unable to attend the Fair in person, we invite you visit our online Book Fair at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/galionelementary. The online Fair is available Oct. 12 – 16.
There is a Family Night Scheduled for Tuesday Oct. 13 from 4 – 7. The whole family is welcome to come and visit the Book Fair on this night.
Payments can be made using cash, check or credit card. Checks should be made payable to the Galion Elementary School PTO. Money raised will go toward purchasing new books for the school libraries and teachers’ classroom libraries.
Thank you for encouraging your child to read. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the Book Fair. If you have questions, you can contact Cindy Voss at the Primary School at (419) 468-4010 or Alex Sharick at the Intermediate School 419-468-3676.
