Press release
Students at the Galion Primary and Intermediate Schools will be showing their thanks to veterans this year through a Wall of Heroes display in each building. Veterans and Galion community members are invited to visit each school from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10.
Students have been working the past several weeks on this project. It is designed to honor their family members or friends who have served in the Armed Forces.
“It is imperative that we make sure our students understand the importance of Veteran’s Day to the history of our country,” said Intermediate School Principal Alex Sharick. “Our teachers and staff do a great job each year developing new ideas to help our students learn the importance of Veteran’s Day, as helping students find new and creative avenues to show their gratitude for our service men and women.”
The Leader in Me Student Lighthouse committees in both buildings will greet community members and veterans as they enter each building. These students will also be serving cookies and punch to those who visit the Wall of Heroes displays.
