GALION — After multiple reports have been made to area police departments regarding a white Pilot with a group of people in it coming to people’s homes and attempting to come inside to show products, Galion Police made contact with one of the people in the white Pilot vehicle.

A report was made by a resident stating that had seen the vehicle in the Murray Street area. Officers were able to speak with Patrick Riley on Harding Way East. He advised officers he and his group are selling Kirby products in the area. Riley was advised that he is required to obtain a permit to solicit inside the city limits and he agreed to do so.

Later on Wednesday, a report was made in the First Avenue area that the group in the white Pilot were going door-to-door without a permit. The group advised officers they were only going to appointments they had previously scheduled.

12:20 a.m.-A report of a male looking into vehicles with a flashlight in the 200 block of South Street was investigated.

2:50 a.m.-A report of suspicious people in the North East Street area was investigated and one person was taken into custody.

12:54 p.m.-The city street department turned over a bicycle that was found in the 100 block of South Pierce Street.

1:10 p.m.-Officers assisted with a vehicle lockout with a child inside the car with the air conditioner running in the 800 block of Harding Way West.

1:32 p.m.-An Arlington Avenue resident reported someone hit their mailbox.

2 p.m.-A dispute was investigated in the 100 block of North Union Street.

4:17 p.m.-A small glitter backpack found in the Erie Street area was turned over to officers.

8:24 p.m.-A domestic dispute was investigated in the 600 block of West Church Street.

8:58 p.m.-A report of a man staggering along the road on Portland Way South was investigated and was a man who had walked for the past month to the area from Florida.

9:17 p.m.-A report of a breaking and entering at a residence in the 300 block of East Church Street was investigated. The K-9 unit cleared the residence after it was found that a door had been kicked in.

9:20 p.m.-A report of a verbal dispute was investigated in the 700 block of Harding Way East.
