Galion High School hosted the 2014 National Honor Society Induction Ceremony in the High School cafetorium Dec. 1. Ten students were welcomed in to this prestigious organization during the evening’s activities.
“National Honor Society members are some of our best and brightest students,” National Honor Society Co-Advisor Julie Hoffman said. “Membership in this group represents a student’s commitment to academics, service, leadership and character, and membership in this organization should be a goal of all students.”
This year’s inductees included Jermaine Burket, Danielle Court, Gillian Garverick, M’Lynn Gwinner, Kearsten Kostelnik, Erik Miller, Michaela Slone, Karrigan Winbigler, Jun Hao Zheng and Austin Zumbro. They join current members Kelly Baker, Molly Barker, Jacob Bash, Sydney Dameron, Jake Dretzka, Clair Erlsten, Leah Fisher, Billie Frank, Gabby Frizzell, Samantha Gates, Makaila Grimes, Austin Hadamuscin, Evan Huggins, Chad Karnes, Lyndsay McMullen, Abigail Williams, Addie Zeisler and Evan Zumbro
“These students have worked hard to achieve at least a 3.25 GPA, and they have all excelled in the areas of leadership, character, and service both in and out of the classroom,” High School Principal Ron Williams said. “Being inducted into National Honor Society is their reward for all of their efforts throughout high school. It is a great honor.”
A relish/dessert buffet was served prior to the start of the ceremony by the Galion City School District Food Service department, and each student had their photograph taken by Photorama of Galion.
