NEWS RELEASE:

GALION – The Galion Middle School is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair Monday, Oct. 23 through Friday, Oct. 27. The Book Fair will feature a “Western-theme” and is taking place in the Galion Middle School Media Center. The book fair will be open to students from 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. during the school day, and parents are encouraged to come to the library and shop as well.

“The Book Fair is a great way to connect your children with many wonderful books, plus they make great gifts,” said Galion Middle School librarian Tracie Wittibslager. “Our students always enjoy the opportunity to shop for new books.”

Orders may also be placed on line at scholastic.com/fair (search “Galion Middle School”), and free shipping is available to the school. Payments can be made using cash, check or credit card. Checks should be made payable to the Galion Middle School. Money raised will go toward purchasing new books for the school library.

This year’s incentive, if students and their families purchase $3,000 through the book fair, involves Middle School Assistant Principal Mr. Brian Kinnard being duct taped to the Middle School gymnasium wall. Mr. Kinnard had to dress like a pirate for a day because students and their families purchased more than $2,500 during the book fair last school year.

“Mr. Kinnard is being a great sport by offering this incentive for our students,” said Wittibslager. “I know our students will reach their goal and enjoy seeing him duct taped to a wall!”

Thank you for encouraging your child to read. If you have questions, you can contact Tracie Wittibslager at 419-468-3134 ext:13011.
