A Galion man died Monday morning as a result of a one-vehicle accident in Morrow County.
Twenty-six-year-old Kevin Fuhrer died on the way to the hospital from the scene of the accident on Ohio 309 east of Iberia. Another man in the car, 20-year-old Zachary Lunsford, also of Galion, was taken to Galion Community Hospital and later to Grant Medical Center in Columbus in serious condition.
The Mt. Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says both men were ejected from the vehicle and it has not been determined which was driving at the time of the accident. The vehicle went out of control as it went around a curve in the road, hit a guardrail, overturned and hit several trees.
While that accident remains under investigation the Patrol says excessive speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors.
