MORROW COUNTY—The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on July 11, 2023, at approximately 3:45 pm. The crash occurred on County Road 9 south of State Route 95 in Gilead Township, Morrow County.
Keith Knapp, age 51 of Galion, was operating a 2014 Buick Enclave northbound on County Road 9 when he traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and a group of trees. Mr. Knapp was transported by Morrow County EMS to Morrow County Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Mr. Knapp was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol and/or drug use are not suspected factors in this crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Morrow County EMS. The crash remains under investigation.
