GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW) — The Galion Public Library is gearing up for summer with a variety of programs for all ages in June, alongside the launch of its Summer Reading program on June 2.
The library will be showcasing colorful displays throughout June and July, tied to the “Color Our World” Summer Reading theme. Main displays will be updated, and book displays will feature themes like “Color Our World,” weathering storms, and beach reads.
Adults (18+) can participate in their own Summer Reading program for chances to win weekly mini prizes from local businesses and monthly grand prizes, including a board game bundle in June and a LEGO botanical bundle in July. Sign-up begins June 2nd at the upstairs circulation desk.
The library will also host “Bingo! For Books” on Monday, June 2, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. This special Summer Reading edition will offer participants (ages 16 and under with an adult) the chance to win new books and gift cards.
Adults (18+) seeking one-on-one assistance can schedule free appointments with library staff on June 4, 16, and 30 for help with various digital tasks. Sign-up forms are available at the circulation desk and online.
Other June programs include “Political Education: The Politics of Color” on June 9, “Coffee and Coloring” at the Three Bean Coffee House on June 11th, an Adult Craft Night focusing on origami on June 18, “Yap Club” for adult conversation on June 25, an Adult Game Night featuring a local game designer on June 30, and a Red Cross Bloodmobile on June 27.
