The times they are “a changin’” in Galion – or at least they might be when it comes to non-city residents getting city water.
One of six pieces of legislation Galion City Council members will vote on Tuesday evening is an amendment to the codified ordinance governing the sale of city water outside the city limits. Currently, Galion requires that in order for property outside city limits to extend or tap into a city water line that property must first be annexed with few exceptions.
Legislation that would relax the annexation requirement is scheduled to have a first reading and a vote.
A revision of city income tax regulations as require by state statute will receive a second reading. Terry Gribble of the Galion Community Center YMCA is also slated to give City Council an update on the Heise Park pool season.
