The Galion City School District is pleased to announce its partnership with Step By Step Learning® to help improve the academic outcomes of all Galion students.
Step By Step Learning® is a literacy and professional development consulting company that is focused on implementing the best and most effective practices to accelerate students to reading and understanding grade level text. With 20 years of personalized, hands-on, in-classroom experience, Step By Step Learning® provides proven strategies and solutions that accelerate those schools with reading and math delayed students to quality education performance levels.
“Learning to read in the early years – kindergarten through third grade – is critical to the future success you can attain in life,” said Michael Grabarits, CEO of Step By Step Learning®, LLC. “During our primary years, PreK to grade 3, we learn the fundamental skills that lead us to be able to recognize speech to print and eventually read, and as we advance into middle school, high school, and college, we read to learn. A child’s ability to read is the foundational skill that is the most important contributor to their success in life.”

“This new professional development program allows a multisensory approach to instruction which speaks to all types of learners,” said Jenny Jackson, Title I Reading Intervention Specialist. “The individual student assessments we gave to each of our students provided us with an overview of each student’s strengths and weaknesses, and we will regularly monitor the progress of each student to determine their individual growth and continue to provide the instruction that meets the individual needs of each student.”
