Once a Tiger, always a Tiger and Galion senior Ridge Durbin will continue to be a Tiger on the basketball court. Durbin has announced he will attend Wittenberg University in the fall and continue his playing career for coach Bill Brown.

Durbin is the son of Stacie Benton and Scott Durbin.

The 5-foot-11-inch guard averaged 14 points and nearly 3.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists for Galion this past winter. Durbin also owns Galion school records for most 3-point field goals in a season, 64, and in a career, 174. Durbin was a four-year captain for Galion and named his team’s Most Valuable Player following the 2013-2014 season. As a senior Durbin was an All-NCC first team selection and All-Northwest District second teamer in Division II.

“We are very pleased that Ridge has chosen to attend Wittenberg University,” Brown said. “While everyone knows that Ridge can really shoot the basketball, he is very underrated when it comes to positively impacting the game in other ways as well. Our coaches are looking forward to working with him both on and off the court.”

Wittenberg is the winningest men’s Division III basketball program in the NCAA in wins and percentage. The Tigers also have more appearances and wins in NCAA Division III national tournament games than any other program.
