Galion City Council members crossed a few T’s and dotted a few I’s at their year-end meeting Tuesday night.
On top of approving amendments to 2016 appropriations, employee benefits, and appointments for the Design Review districts with emergency, council also approved the first reading of the Airport Consulting RFQ unanimously.
Appointed for the Design Review Uptowne District were Dan Brown, Craig Clinger, and Patty Roston as voting members with Erik Gimbel appointed as an alternate. Brown and Clinger were appointed to three-year terms ending Dec.31, 2019. Roston’s term will end Dec. 31, 2017.
Council reappointed Dr. Richard Byrom, Brown, and Clinger to the Historic West Main Design Review District for three-year terms. George “Skip” Sutton was approved to a one-year term ending Dec. 31, 2017.
Council also reappointed David Keller and Chris Heydinger to three-year terms for the Harding Way West Design Review Board. Michelle McCarthy was appointed as the alternate.
Preparing for the end of the fiscal year Galion Council approved amending 2016 appropriations. Included in the appropriations was moving $70,000 from electric funds that was originally intended to go to sewer funds.
Council approved the first reading for authorizing the Safety-Service Director to advertise and enter into a contract for engineering and consulting services for the Galion Airport.
