GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Galion Community Theatre (GCT) is set to dazzle audiences this summer with its rendition of the timeless classic, “Singin’ in The Rain.” The musical, which is a homage to the endearing era of Hollywood’s silent films transitioning into talkies, will feature local talent and promises to be a hit with audiences of all ages.

Director Beth Anne Jarvis shares her personal connection with the musical, “‘Singin’ in The Rain’ is one of my all-time favorite movies. It played constantly in my house growing up,” says Jarvis. “I am thrilled to share this show with the community, and I hope it brings our audiences a sense of nostalgia from the movie and excitement for the added numbers in the stage version.”

The story follows the charming Don Lockwood, his witty sidekick Cosmo Brown, the aspiring actress Kathy Selden, and the vocally challenged leading lady, Lina Lamont. The production boasts a cast of phenomenally talented local actors, a group of skillful musicians, and a dedicated tech crew, including both veteran volunteers and members of the GCT Youth Board.

The musical is not just a trip down memory lane; it’s an interactive experience. “Even if you are not familiar with the classic movie musical, we guarantee that you will be singing along and dancing in your seats throughout this show,” promises the GCT.
