The April 6, 2014 Community Lenten Service to be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 129 W. Walnut St., Galion at 7:00 p.m., will be the Second Concert presented by the Lutheran Concert Series. This Concert will feature talented musicians from Galion and the surrounding areas.
Soloists performing in this concert are harpist Ashlie Payton, trumpeter Jerusha Walker; pianists LaMar Wyse, Marcia Burkhart, and Ayesha Fry; organists Marilyn Stepro and Rebecca Shultz; flutist Cathy Moneysmith; and vocalist Richard Walker. A chorus featuring Rebecca Shultz, Sarah McGrady, Ayesha Fry, Jerusha Walker, Brenda Treisch, Marcia Burkhart, Cathy Moneysmith, Thomas Palmer, John Phillips, Ricker Shultz, Brian Treisch, Rick Walker, Ron Burkhart, LaMar Wyse, and Adam Rinehart will also perform several works. “
We will be doing a selection of the “Last Words of Christ” as a final choral number,” said Concert Series committee member Brian Treisch. “This is part of a work we hope to perform next year.”
The musical selections are all keeping with the Lenten season. Readings will also be given as part of the service.
This event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served by members of Peace Lutheran following the concert.
