GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Galion City Council will convene for its first organizational meeting of the year on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 7 p.m. to establish its leadership and administrative framework for 2026.

The meeting, held in Council Chambers, will focus on key structural appointments, including the election of a Council President Pro Tempore and the appointment of both a Clerk and Clerk Pro Tempore. Following recent legislative updates to municipal pay scales, council members will also formally set the specific duties and compensation for the Clerk’s office.

Beyond personnel decisions, the agenda includes the designation of various council committees and their meeting schedules for the upcoming term. The session is also slated to provide in-house training for newly elected council members to familiarize them with local procedures and legislative protocols.
