The Galion Brush and Palette Club has been around for over 50 years, but now it has a place to call its very own. The club officially cut the ribbon on the Brush and Palette Art Gallery on Wednesday morning at 118 Harding Way East Rear.

The gallery has on display numerous pieces of artwork from club members. Kable said that is the first purpose of the art gallery.

“Anyone who displays in here, unless it’s an invited show, has to be a member,” Kable said.

The gallery had a reception for artists last Saturday and has another show planned for June. This one will be for the Crawford County Arts Council.

Wednesday’s ribbon cutting was through the Galion-Crestline Chamber of Commerce. Kable says the club has put a lot of effort into establishing the gallery, but she says it’s been worth it.

“So far, it’s been a labor of love,” Kable said. “Our mission is to promote and encourage the enjoyment of art in the community.”

One of the club’s other goals is to have a Web site.
