GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Due to the extreme heat forecast for July 4, organizers have relocated the 1976 Time Capsule Opening Ceremony and envelope pickup to an indoor venue.
The event, originally scheduled for Heise Park, will now be held in the sanctuary at Grace Point Church, 683 Portland Way N., Galion. The church’s air conditioning will provide a more comfortable environment for attendees.
Organizers said the safety and well-being of volunteers, guests and families was the primary factor in the decision. The new location will allow the community to enjoy the event while avoiding the expected high temperatures.

- Personal envelope pickup: 1 to 3 p.m.
