A GoFundMe account has been created to assist the family of five who lost their belongings in a trailer fire earlier this week.

The Peterman family lost their home and pets to a fire on Feb. 24. The Chatfield Township Fire was paged to the scene that morning to control a fire on Washington Street in Chatfield. Mutual aid assistance was requested from the Lykens, New Washington, and Holmes township fire departments.

The local chapter of the Red Cross also assisted the family with temporary shelter and assistance for immediate needs.

The fire remains under investigation.

The GoFundMe account is attempting to raise $2,000 for the Peterman family to replace belongings and to clean up the site. The fundraising page can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/a4r3jkq4 or by searching for “The Peterman family fire fund.”
