Fundraisers have been established to help out Ruth Driskill-Bloomfield and the family of Elizabeth Shelton after the tragic accident that took two lives on Oct. 12.

Driskill-Bloomfield was traveling with her husband, Andrew Bloomfield, and two friends just hours after the couple was married when the vehicle went out of control, struck a utility pole, and rolled.

Bloomfield and passenger Elizabeth Shelton were ejected from the vehicle. Shelton was declared deceased at the scene and Bloomfield later died at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima.

Driskill-Bloomfield is currently in ICU at St. Rita’s along with the driver of the vehicle, Timothy Tebbe. The conditions of both have been upgraded from critical to stable.

A fundraiser has been created on www.giveforward.com to help Driskill-Bloomfield with her husband’s funeral expenses and her medical expenses.

“October 12th was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives but ended in tragedy. Only a few short hours after the two took their vows they were in a terrible car accident that took Andy’s life and left Ruth in ICU,” says the blurb written on the fundraiser’s page. “We are asking everyone and anyone to find it in their hearts to help out.”

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Andy Bloomfield Memorial Fundraiser had raised $1,525 toward its goal of $5,000. Donations can be made at https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/cx36/the-andy-bloomfield-memorial-fundraiser.
