GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The FRIENDS of the Galion Public Library (FGPL) will hold its semi-annual book sale on May 8, 9, and 10 in the Community Room of the library, located at 123 North Market Street.
The book sale will kick off on Thursday, May 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. It will continue on Friday, May 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and conclude on Saturday, May 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Members of the FRIENDS organization will have the opportunity for early shopping on Wednesday, May 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The books and other media available at the sale are all donations, and the proceeds generated will support the Galion Public Library’s operations and programs.
Denise Iden, president of the FRIENDS group, emphasized the significant impact of the book sale. “For years now, we have been able to help the library buy computers, children’s programs and even furniture that the library does not have the pockets to afford,” she said.
Iden further noted the crucial role of community support in the event’s success. “This sale is the mainstay of our revenue, and it’s the support of Galion and the surrounding community that helps us by generously donating to this sale. Of course in turn, many find the perfect books to fill their summer reading!”
