LIMA—In an ongoing internal investigation surrounding the escape of two inmates from the Allen/Oakwood Correctional Institution this week, authorities have determined that the pair managed to exit the prison premises by concealing themselves in a dumpster. As the investigation progresses, four employees have been placed on paid administrative leave.

The names and positions of the employees who have been placed on administrative leave are as follows: Major Carl Bendross, Correction Officer Tre’mon Glenn-Crawford, Correction Officer Lain Patterson, and Correction Officer Taylor Robey. Attached to the official administrative leave documentation are the details pertaining to each employee.

It is possible that additional individuals may also be placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues. Both the criminal investigation conducted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) and the internal investigation by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) are still ongoing.

One of the escaped inmates, Bradley Gillespie, remains at large, and authorities are urging the public to assist in locating him. Individuals with any information regarding Gillespie’s whereabouts are encouraged to contact the OSHP Findlay Patrol Post at 419-423-1414 or the United States Marshal Service at 1-866-4WANTED. Authorities caution the public against approaching Gillespie and advise them to contact 9-1-1 immediately if they encounter him.

The search for Gillespie continues as law enforcement agencies collaborate to ensure the safe return of the escaped inmate to custody. Updates regarding the investigation and the search for Gillespie will be provided as they become available.
