GALION―When Galion voters head to the polls on Tuesday, they will have a choice of four candidates to fill three council-at-large positions on the Galion City Council.
Galion attorney E. Roberta Wade, who once served the city a law director, said she wants to be a voice for the people.
“I want to make sure that the city is treating the citizens fairly and I want to make sure that the city is properly spending public funds. The city was in fiscal emergency for nearly 15 years. It wasn’t any great financial management that got the city out of fiscal emergency, it was the citizens paying higher utilities, higher fees, and higher taxes,” said Wade. “I want to be able to assist in ensuring the taxpayers’ money is managed appropriately.”
Gail Baldinger has served several terms on the council and once served as council president.
“I enjoy serving the public,” said Baldinger.
Mark Triplett has served on the council for the past five years and wants the opportunity to continue.
“I want to ensure that the best judgment is being used in decision-making by the city. I am here to represent all the people of Galion and my record speaks for itself,” said Triplett.
Galion dentist Dr. Tom Fellner has also served on the council for many years and has thrown his hat into the ring to continue that service to the public.
