A Wednesday night drug bust pulled in a wide variety of agencies to handle the various offenses.
Around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night, the Bucyrus Police Department, assisted by the METRICH task force, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Galion Police Department, executed a search warrant at 1375 Whetstone St. in Bucyrus for suspected drug abuse and drug trafficking.
Suspected heroin and narcotics, in what Bucyrus Police Chief Dave Koepke termed as a significant amount, were seized by police. Officers arrested Howard L. Javens, Dustin K. Javens, and Joshua C. Osborne. Twenty-one-year-old Cody M. Frazier was also arrested on a warrant out of the Shelby Police Department. Frazier was taken to the Crawford County Justice Center to await pickup.
Koepke reported that they are currently working with the Humane Society Serving Crawford County on a violation of possessing an illegal animal. Humane Society Director Victoria Carmean said that after they were called in by the Bucyrus Police Department, they took possession of a male boa constrictor and what they believe is a female ball python.
Koepke added that they were also investigating possible child endangerment with three young children in the home.
