Former Richland County Deputy Michael Gouge will be finding out what life is like on the other side of the bars.
The 47-year-old Gouge was sentenced to one year in prison following his guilty plea in June to one count of sexual battery. Gouge confessed to participating in a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old female student he was teaching at Pioneer Career and Technology Center.
Ohio law prohibits sexual relationships between students and teachers regardless of the age of the student. Gouge began teaching at Pioneer in 2010.
Gouge will be considered a Tier II sexual offender upon his release from prison and must register with the sheriff’s office of his county of residence every 90 days for the rest of his life.
