NEW WASHINGTON—In an exciting development for the local community, Kurt and Kristen Luidhardt have revealed their plans to invest $200,000 in the acquisition and renovation of the Dutchtown DariBar, a beloved food establishment. This acquisition not only secures the future of 15 part-time jobs but also safeguards the full-time General Manager position. The official announcement was initially made on March 23 in The New Washington Herald.
Kurt and Kristen Luidhardt have been the proud owners of their marketing company since 2006. However, their decision to embark on this new venture was driven by their deep connection to the community and their fondness for the business itself. Kurt, being a native of New Washington, had frequently visited the DariBar with his family. Expressing his motivation, Kurt stated, “I want to give back to New Washington and keep it a fun and enjoyable experience, just like I had when I was growing up here.”
The investment in the business encompasses the purchase of the establishment and its property, as well as essential equipment, computers, and state-of-the-art point-of-sale software. Starting from May 22, patrons of the Dutchtown DariBar can also look forward to a brand-new burger menu featuring locally-sourced ingredients, thanks to a partnership with Gochenour Meats & More, a New Washington-based company.
New Washington Mayor Ben Lash expressed his delight regarding the announcement, stating, “We are thrilled to witness new investment in New Washington while preserving a significant piece of our history and supporting a local business. We extend our congratulations to the Luidharts and warmly welcome them as valuable members of our business community.”
The Luidharts’ decision to invest in the Dutchtown DariBar not only ensures the continuation of a cherished establishment but also highlights their commitment to the prosperity of New Washington. As they embark on this new chapter, the Luidharts are dedicated to maintaining the essence of the DariBar while infusing it with their own vision and passion. The local community eagerly awaits the transformation and eagerly anticipates the enhanced experience that lies ahead.
