MARION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—In a recent development, the Ohio Supreme Court found former Marion County Common Pleas Court Judge Jason Warner in contempt. The declaration, signed by Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon Kennedy, revealed that Warner failed to file an affidavit of compliance with the Court.

Warner’s legal troubles stem from his conviction on felonies related to an automobile accident. He and his wife were convicted of complicity in leaving the scene of an accident and complicity to tamper with evidence. The incident resulted in the victim being trapped in their car and sustaining serious injuries. Despite their attempts to appeal the conviction, the Warners were unsuccessful.

Throughout the legal proceedings, Warner has maintained his innocence, attributing the incident to his wife and claiming he was merely a drunk passenger at the time. However, a panel recommending the indefinite suspension of Warner’s law license to the Ohio Supreme Court presented compelling evidence against him.

The panel highlighted that Warner admitted to leaving the victim for dead at the accident scene without making any effort to assist or report the incident. Photos from the scene revealed significant damage to the victim’s vehicle, with Warner seen leaving the scene without seeking help.

The panel concluded that Warner’s actions violated his training and experience, as he was aware of his obligation to stay at the scene of an accident and provide assistance.

As of now, the Ohio Supreme Court still needs to set a date for an official contempt hearing. Marion County Now will continue to monitor and report on this ongoing story.
