GALION—A former Galion Police Dispatcher has filed a sexual discrimination lawsuit against the City of Galion and former Police Chief Marc Rodriquez.

Angela Scott filed the lawsuit on March 29, 2023, in the U.S. District Court for Northern Ohio.

Scott, who submitted her letter of resignation last August. Scott made several allegations against Rodriguez. As a result of the allegations against Rodriguez, an investigation was conducted.

As a result of the investigation, Rodriguez was terminated. He appealed the termination but ultimately lost the appeal.

The final determination cited that Rodriguez engaged in “conduct unbecoming” by a preponderance of the evidence.

The order said Rodriguez acted inappropriately toward females while he was a Lieutenant and later as Chief.

The decision to terminate Rodriguez was upheld by the City of Galion Civil Service Commission in February.
