MARION — A former Crawford County Sheriff’s Office corrections officer was taken into custody and is being kept in the Multi-County Correctional Center in Marion.

According to the Multi-County Correctional Center automated inmate look-up system, Jason M. Tupps, 44, is detained in the Marion jail. He is being detained on a single charge for contempt of court.

The system was last updated Saturday at 6:44 p.m.

According to the Crawford County Common Pleas Court online records, Tupps also is charged with a third-degree felony charge for abduction, a fourth-degree felony charge for improper handling of a firearm and multiple misdemeanor charges.

The charges came from an alleged incident on July 9, 2018.

Tupps previously was on a personal recognizance bond.
