BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Former Bucyrus City Councilwoman Carolyn Shireman has been indicted by a Crawford County Grand Jury on two new felony charges. This indictment adds to the existing allegations against her, which include telecommunications fraud and theft.

Shireman was served a summons regarding these new charges, which are classified as third and fourth degree felonies for telecommunications harassment and theft. Earlier this year, she faced the original felony charges, prompting her resignation from the City Council.

In the wake of her departure, the Crawford County Republican Central Committee appointed Clarissa Slater, a Bucyrus resident, to complete Shireman’s unexpired term. Slater, however, lost her bid to retain the seat in the May primary election.

Crawford County Now will continue to follow this developing story.
