DELAWARE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Adam Stone, a former attorney from Bucyrus, was arraigned on Friday in the Delaware County Common Pleas Court, facing multiple felony charges.
Stone is charged with telecommunications fraud, impersonation of a police officer or private police, grand theft, and identity fraud. The first two charges are classified as third-degree felonies, while grand theft is a fourth-degree felony, and identity fraud is a fifth-degree felony. If convicted on all counts, Stone could face up to 8.5 years in prison. These charges are related to his representation of clients Dan and Mindy Straker.
During the arraignment, Stone, who was represented by attorney Aaron Schwartz from Strongsville, Ohio, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Judge James Schuck of the Delaware Common Pleas Court issued Stone a personal recognizance bond, allowing him to be released without having to post bail. Stone was booked, fingerprinted, photographed, and provided a DNA sample at the courthouse.
A pretrial hearing is set to be scheduled in the coming weeks. Crawford County Now will continue to cover this developing story.
