RICHLAND COUNTY (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A forensic anthropologist is currently working to identify potential human remains discovered on December 7 inside an abandoned house in rural Richland County, near Galion.

Details regarding the remains, including the victim’s name, age, race, gender, and other identifying information, remain unknown at this time.

This information was shared in a news release issued by Maj. James P. Sweat, chief deputy of the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

The discovery was reported to authorities by a 911 caller around 2:00 p.m. on December 7.
