Great food, great entertainment and a good cause were the ingredients to stir up a full house Saturday morning for the annual Bucyrus Rotary Club breakfast.
This was the 41st annual pancake breakfast hosted by the Rotarians as a fundraiser. The event is traditionally held the third Saturday in February.
Tami Tima of the Rotary Club shares what it’s all about.
“Everything is sponsored to us from our great sponsors like the Hord’s, FC Bank, we get all our pancake mix from GM Meals. It’s just a great thing,” Tima said. “I have a crew where it is all run by the Rotarians of Bucyrus. All the money goes back to Bucyrus. We made $6,000.00 profit last year and I am looking for $7,000.00 this year and that’s a lot coming from Bucyrus and it’s because it’s the people that come out here. It’s one day and it’s fun!”
The parking lot was packed and the flapjacks were constantly flipping. There was live entertainment provided by student groups from Bucyrus, Wynford and Colonel Crawford as people enjoyed the juicy sausage links from Hord and the hot buttery pancakes with iHop-style syrup selections. The lines were long, but everyone left with a full stomach.
