BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Flatland Ice Cream Machine Rentals is a locally rooted business with a name—and a mission—that reflects the heart of Crawford County. Inspired by the flat farmland and agricultural landscape of the area, the Flatland logo features a photo of the very fields the new owner, Jordan Shifley, grew up looking out on from his front porch in Bucyrus. It’s a nod to home, community, and the simple joy of gathering together.

Jordan purchased the business in September 2025 from Ivory Bean Ice Cream Machine Rentals in Shelby and relocated operations to Bucyrus with a vision to build strong local and regional relationships. Today, Flatland Ice Cream Machine Rentals proudly serves events throughout Crawford County and beyond, offering professional soft-serve rentals for graduations, birthday parties, weddings, corporate functions, schools, churches, and community organizations.
A major focus of the business is corporate clientele, with current customers including manufacturing companies hosting monthly employee appreciation events, banks and car dealerships holding customer open houses, and universities planning holiday parties and other gatherings. Flatland also supports church camps, Vacation Bible School programs, and youth events.

The business operates nine Taylor commercial-grade soft serve machines—the same industry-standard equipment used by major brands like Dairy Queen. Machines are available in single- and double-flavor, with twist options, and are fully serviced, with delivery, setup, and pickup included.

To elevate the experience, Flatland offers toppings à la carte, including a popular sundae package with hot fudge, strawberry topping, and a signature “twinkle” crunch. Custom topping requests are welcome.
