Despite admitting to the charges against her, Kari Eulett was sentenced to 18 months at Marysville Prison for Women on a busy day in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Monday.
Prior to sentencing, Eulett’s attorney Shane Leuthold alleged that Eulett, 30, of Bucyrus, had been strong-armed, and forced into the robbery. In addition to the jail time, Eulett will also have to pay a fine of $250, as well as court costs and restitution totaling over $1,000.
David Easterday, 26, of Bucyrus, changed his plea to guilty in lieu of trial Monday afternoon. Easterday was sentenced to twelve months at Lorain Penitentiary for a fifth degree felony charge of possession of drugs, as well as probation violation. Easterday was ordered to pay a mandatory minimum fine of $1,250, and will serve post release control of three years. Easterday will have to submit all drug related property.
Philip Tesso Jr., pleaded guilty to a felony three theft charge in Common Pleas Court Monday morning. Tesso, 19, of Crestline, must serve three years on community control and undergo a drug and alcohol assessment as well as any follow-up treatment. He admitted to stealing a firearm on May 25, 2013. Tesso must also pay a $750 fine. He was credited for 87 days he had already served in jail.
Douglas Caudell Jr., 35, of Shiloh, pleaded no contest to a fourth degree theft charge. Caudell, who helped another steal a Bobcat utility vehicle between September 24 and 25, 2012 by aiding and abetting, was sentenced to three years on community control. He must also pay $1,000 in restitution to the victim.
Travis Streeter, 20, of Galion, admitted to a number of community control violations Monday. Streeter, who had been granted judicial release on a 2012 case, admitted to driving a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner, having no valid license, and operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Judge Russell Wiseman dismissed Streeter’s violation of refusing to submit to a drug and alcohol test. Streeter will serve time on the remainder of his 2012 sentence.
Charles Baker, 29, admitted to his community control violations Monday, which included possessing a syringe and spoons and testing positive for marijuana, cocaine and opiates. Baker’s community control was revoked and he was returned to prison to finish the rest of his sentence on a 2010 burglary case.
Crystal Bowers had been sentenced on forgery charges back in April but it wasn’t until Monday that it was decided when she would have to report the Crawford County Justice Center to be transferred to prison. Bowers has a surgery scheduled for the end of August and her jail time had been put off until after then. During the Monday hearing, Bowers was ordered to report to the county jail by 7:00 a.m. on October 1. She will serve an 11-month sentence.
Terry Chatman, 43, of Bucyrus, changed his plea to guilty in possession of cocaine Monday afternoon. Chatman who is attending counseling in Wyandot County will have his case dismissed if he can complete the two year intervention period handed down by Judge Wiseman.
Nicole Whitmore’s motion for diversion was approved on Monday, Whitmore, 28, of Loudonville, plead guilty to a felony five charge of forgery. Whitmore will have to pay $407.82 in restitution, plus court and supervision costs. Whitmore’s diversion period will last for two years.
Twenty people were arraigned in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Monday morning. The arraignments included: Ben Aicher (felony one aggravated burglary, $250,000); Jesse Baird (felony one aggravated burglary, $250,000 bond); Stephan Bloomfield (felony two trafficking in drugs, felony three possession of drugs, felony five having weapons under disability, $250,000 bond); Seth Bordan (felony three trafficking in drugs, $250,000 bond); Connie Brady (trafficking in drugs, personal recognizance bond); Randy Bucher (felony five possession of drugs, personal recognizance bond); James Cady (felony two felonious assault, $150,000 bond); Kristie Clark (felony five obstruction of justice, personal recognizance bond); Jamie Davis (felony two burglary, personal recognizance bond); Charles Ramsey (two counts of felony five drug possession, personal recognizance bond); Jeffrey Ramsey (felony five drug possession, $50,000); Jonathan Shepard (felony five vandalism, personal recognizance bond); Ryan Staton (felony two burglary); Adam Swerlein (felony five possession of drugs, $50,000); Steve VanMeter (felony four failure to register, $50,000 bond); Susan Wilson (felony three trafficking in drugs); Jeffrey Zenowicz (felony four theft, personal recognizance bond) Lonny Clevenger, Kimberly Fox, Steven McCombs were also arraigned on charges that were waived from reading during the hearing, Judge Wiseman ordered $25,000 bond on Clevenger, Fox, and McCombs.
