As a result of this incident, authorities were promptly notified, including the Huron County Game Warden, Matt Smith, who informed both the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Ohio Department of Agriculture. The consequences of the aquatic mishap were immediate, with a fish kill occurring, and there were concerns about the impact on the water supply. However, the full extent of the damage is yet to be determined as investigations are ongoing.

Authorities are looking into crucial aspects of the incident, including analyzing the direction in which the crop duster was traveling and assessing the quantity of pesticides released during the event.
