Another fire displaced a family in Galion Wednesday night.

According to the Galion Fire Department, firefighters responded to a small fire at 222 E. Summit St. at 6:33 p.m. Wednesday. Though there were no injuries from the fire, the home did sustain $2,500 worth of property damage.

The American Red Cross of Crawford County assisted the family with any immediate needs. The family was able to stay with relatives and did not require emergency shelter. The local Red Cross provided the family of five with comfort kits of personal hygiene items and stuffed animals for the children. Red Cross caseworkers will provide the family with help in long-term recovery planning.
