Electrical issues are being blamed for the fire that took the house at 1032 South Walnut Street in Bucyrus on Saturday evening. Bucyrus firefighters indicated the fire started in one of the bedrooms.
The house is a rental property belonging to Paul and Ruth Schimpf. The family living in the home, Zach and Alysson Roski and their three young children, were not at home when the fire broke out.
The call came into the Bucyrus Fire Department shortly before 6:30 Saturday evening when a neighbor noticed smoke coming from the roof. Firefighters were able to get the family pets out of the home.
There are no estimates as to structural and personal property loss at this time. The local chapter of the American Red Cross has helped the family find temporary shelter at an area hotel.
