The last of five defendants in a multi-million dollar mortgage fraud scheme was sentenced last month and he received the heaviest sentence of all.

Matthew Songer of Crestline was sentenced to 30 months in prison in federal district court. Songer will serve his sentence at a federal prison in Morgantown, West Virginia and must also complete a 500-hour drug treatment program. Songer was also ordered to pay more than $2.2 million in restitution to three banks.

Other defendants in the case included Peter Lamb who was sentenced to two years of probation, Kevin Barcomb who was sentenced to 24 months in prison, Ronald Kightlinger Jr. was sentenced to six months in prison, and Dawn Hedges who was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
