Clouds may have tried dribbling a little rain on Harvest Festival goers Saturday, but that still didn’t stop people from coming out to enjoy the last day of the annual Crestline tradition.
Drawing in spectators on the final day of the Harvest Festival was the Crestline Police Car Show at 9 a.m., the parade at 3:30 p.m., and performances on the mainstage by bands Steel Ivory and Chris Higbee. Kobalt Kreek headlined the beer garden.
Traveling from Michigan, family members Heidi and Krystin Schueler, and Ivy Whitsett began their afternoon at the festival with the parade.
“It is our dad’s 75th birthday tomorrow, so we are in town from Michigan to celebrate,” Heidi explained.
“We love a parade, so we thought it would be great to come out,” Whitsett added.
“It is interesting to see a small town, because I am not from a small town, so it is kind of nice just to see the whole community come together like this,” Krystin said.
Enjoying the games that the Harvest Festival featured on the midway with her granddaughter Jordan Benton, Sharon McGowan explained what brought them out to the Harvest Festival.
“She goes to Sacred Heart School and was in the parade,” McGowan said. “We just got here, but so far I am spending too much money.”
While their kids took to the rides and games, parents Bud and Patti Huber were taking in the sites of the Harvest Festival. The Hubers explained what they enjoy most about the Harvest Festival.
“The kids and sports community,” Bud said.
“The rides, the kids love the rides, the great entertainment, and live music is great. We really enjoyed the kids from Pioneer who put on a performance yesterday afternoon.
Walking around the festival with her two dogs while her son took in the festivities, Jessica Bourne explained what they enjoy about the festival.
“I am bringing my son out for a great time, he enjoys being out in the crowd,” Bourne said.
Taking in the sights, sounds, people, and tastes of the festival was former Crestline Mayor Dave Sharrock. Sharrock explained what he enjoys most about the Harvest Festival.
“The people. A lot of people you don’t see all year long, people come back in from out of town because of the festival, and it is just a great time, and over the years I met a lot of friends with the carnival traveling trailers, and it is just great to see them again,” Sharock said.
