One of the greatest honors for any educator is to recognize those students that work hard and excel academically.  During halftime of the home football game against Hillsdale Sept. 6, the Bucyrus City Schools will honor 56 elementary school students for their high academic achievement, according to the spring Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA) results.

“We are very proud of the accomplishments of all our BES students,” Elementary Principal Todd Roll said.  “These 56 students worked diligently to accomplish this high academic achievement, and they are very deserving of this recognition.”

The students being recognized were in grades three through five during the 2012-2013 school year.  The OAA tests students in Math, Reading, and Science.

“It’s always a special time for anyone involved in education when you have the opportunity to recognize high academic achievement,” Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said.  “We are so proud of not only the high academic achievement of these 56 students, but also the academic achievements of all the students in our district.”
