TIFFIN, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Authorities are investigating a traffic accident that resulted in a fatality early Monday morning at the intersection of West Market Street and Benner Street.
Preliminary reports from the Tiffin Police Department indicate that a motorcycle, carrying a driver and an 18-year-old passenger, was traveling eastbound on Market Street when it collided with a northbound vehicle on Benner Street, leading to a severe crash.
The 18-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the motorcycle’s driver sustained critical injuries and was airlifted by Life Flight to a hospital in the Toledo area. The driver of the other vehicle reported no visible injuries and received treatment on-site from personnel of the Tiffin Fire/Rescue Division.
Names of those involved in the incident are being withheld pending notification of family members.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, with assistance from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
